Become a Volunteer

Unitas Youth Zone is recruiting a passionate team of volunteers from all backgrounds and skillsets to strengthen our offer to young people in North London

By volunteering with us, you will play a central role in transforming young people’s lives while developing your own skills and enhancing your CV. We offer a dynamic setting in which you can shape how you want to enrich our community.

To give you the best support, we have a comprehensive onboarding process. This includes an interview, a trial shift, a full induction as well as role-specific training.

Email volunteering@unitasyouthzone.org with any enquiries, or fill out the application form to start your journey with us.

What areas can I support?

  • General youth work
  • Sports, gym and fitness
  • Multimedia and music
  • Arts and crafts
  • Employability
  • Training kitchen and wellbeing
  • Helping to serve in our Unicafé
  • Reception and administration
  • Minibus driving

If you have other skills not covered by the above, do be in touch and we will see if we can match you to a role within Unitas.

How often do I need to volunteer?

A part of our mission is to offer young people consistency. Thus, initially, we would like our volunteers to commit to at least one shift per week, for a minimum of twelve weeks. We may also consider applications from those who can commit to less frequency but for a longer period of time.

Do I need any experience?

No volunteering experience is necessary. Full training will be provided.

What is the age limit for volunteering?

All volunteers must be aged 18 or over. Unitas members who wish to volunteer can do so via our Young Leaders programme.

Testimonials from some of our current volunteers

My daughter goes to Unitas and I wanted to give back to my community. I felt that helping out at the Youth Zone would provide me with a more valuable and enriched life experience in working with adults and young people from all walks of life. I am finding that it is a great place to volunteer.
Bhupendra

Volunteering at Unitas brings the community closer and I have been able to meet the loveliest people who are passionate about the cause.
Patty

Being able to contribute in a small way to the overall work of Unitas is very fulfilling. I enjoy spending time with young people in the recreational area; seeing them have a positive experience by playing table tennis, pool or hanging out in a safe environment. I really love the vibrant atmosphere and just want to be part of Unitas as much as possible.
